Description

Title: SAS Data Analyst

Location: Miramar, FL

  1. Summary: Responsible for working to support the data analysis activities for a large scale system integration project using SAS for data analysis tasks that includes developing original programs. The role includes analyzing Medicare and Medicaid data. Responsibilities include:
  • Provide analytic services to support BISC fraud, waste and abuse activities to include:
  • Data analyst support to assist in running already developed statistical models in SAS
  • Data analyst/statistical assistance for special studies (not yet defined)
  • Conduct data analysis on Medicare claims and Medi-Medi matched data as requested by our client to identify vulnerabilities and develop and validate methodologies to detect and prevent abusive use of services, as well as fraud and abuse schemes.
  • Include specific timeframes, particular provider and beneficiary over utilization, high volume services, link analysis and geographic patterns of abuse.
  • Final findings and recommendations report shall include at a minimum the methodology, including study design and activities used, results of data analysis, highlighting the top aberrant billers, lessons learned, potential program vulnerabilities, recommendations, and new or experimental types of analysis

Work Experience and Skills:

  • 4+ years of experience in data analysis using SAS
  • Ability to develop SAS programming from scratch that includes data import and translation, report generation, data correlations, and queries
  • Ability to understand and interpret metadata and develop extrapolation, cross-referencing, and regressions
  • Prefer knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid claims, and/or commercial health care insurance data analysis
  • Ability to translate data analysis results into actionable conclusions
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong analytical, design and debugging skills
  • Effective in team setting or as individual contributor

Education:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required

  • This position is located in Miramar, FL

Work Authorization:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to Federal contract stipulations
